Every year The Youth Shelter Supply hosts a plethora of great events…this years Snowrider Classic lived up to its reputation. With the park dialed and Shaner on the mic the energy was high and so was the level of riding. Ryan Paul was the standout of the day and he took top honors. Other notables included Aaron Becker and Mikey Roysendale…next time you see Thienes, Pettit and the rest of the guys and girls from the Shelter pay some respect!
Thats a rap, folks…

I think there is an unspoken rule that the words skateboarder, gentleman and scholar don’t fit in the same sentence. At the young age of 16, Austin Lee of St. Cloud, MN is an exception to this rule…in a HUGE way!
In July of 2006, Austin approached the Mayor of St. Cloud with the idea to build a one of a kind skate plaza. Weeks later Austin found himself on the cities Parks and Recreation board with the backing of the mayor and has since fought hard to raise money for the cause. Though shy of a few hundred grand, the project is well on its way to raising the $1M budget for the proposed buildout.
For donations, or to learn more about how you can support Austin and the rest of the St. Cloud skate community check out the St. Cloud Skate Plaza and The Youth Shelter Supply.
Skate Unity was the most recent fundraising effort by Austin and The Youth Shelter Supply. Here is a great video showcasing what went down.
Keep up the hard work Austin!
Thienes and friends from The Youth Shelter Supply put together this video of the contest they hosted on the 21st. Check it out, you won’t be dissappointed!
